It's been a long while! Im going to keep this short and sweet as the following news has been a long time coming....we are very excited to announce the debut self titled album 'sundays away' is now available worldwide through the iTunes music store! Final album mixes are being mastered as we speak and the digital release of the album is set for late July! Reaction to 'promises' has been great - and we are really happy that people are enjoying the first single. A new photo gallery of the recording has just been uploaded - see it here. It is with a great sense of excitement that I would like to officially announce the release of the first single from the upcoming sundays away album.......the song is called 'promises' and is available worldwide through the iTunes music store.

The whole 'song a week project' was undertaken with the knowledge that a lot of people’s price point for music these days is $0....so the demo's were made available for free and with close to 200,000 downloads over the course of the project I have just been happy to know that this music (largely created in my bedroom) has had an audience.

With the album process however the project moved out of the bedroom and into the studio and with it came the associated costs....so it is at this point that I humbly lay my ‘busker's hat’ out, cross my fingers and hope that the 5000 or so podcast subscribers that have been on the journey thus far will continue supporting the project……(i.e. by hitting the purchase button!!!)


But seriously 99 cents (or $1.69 in Australia) is a pretty sweet deal....the song is in a higher bitrate than a lot of the stuff on Itunes (Itunes plus) and has no DRM protection (i.e. will play on all portable players and computers etc without restriction). I would also be really grateful if you could put links up on your myspace, facebook, blogs, web pages, etc linking to the new single and podcast so some extra word of mouth stuff could start happening. The promotional budget for this project is zip so any extra help would be appreciated.

At the end of the day though I understand that many bands and projects are offering new ways to access music, and with this in mind and in the spirit of the project – if you seriously can’t afford the song just shoot me an email and we’ll work something out.

Mixing is almost done and soon the tracks will be sent off for mastering! Things are really coming together and I can't wait till this thing is out. Please be patient and stay tuned for more details!

The Lewis EP Five Easy Lessons (my last music project) is now available for purchase on the itunes music store. This is exciting news as this EP was never officially launched and up until now was very hard to find - get a copy here

Band rehearsals have begun, and things are starting to come together nicely. Recording will begin in a few weeks and another chunk will be done in October for an anticipated december release.

.....it’s over.....

52 new songs (over a year & a bit) and over 120,000 songs downloaded (and still counting!)......It's been a really fun project to undertake. I have to admit that upon listening back to some weeks tunes I really cringe, but for every crummy song, there was a decent song, and for every decent song there was a good song etc....I guess there was always going to be mixed results. I am happy to say however that I am having trouble whittling down the songs for the album so I guess that’s a good sign......

It’s really been a fun trip, but is really only the beginning in a lot of ways. The plans for the album are underway and recording is set for July with a December release. There are some really talented people getting involved so the end product should generally rule. I think it will be really fun to finally hear these songs all ‘grown up’ and I can guarantee they will be quite different to the rough demos you have been hearing (in a good way...)I will be releasing material periodically over the podcast throughout 07 so be sure to stay subscribed!

Well the 'Song A Week Project' is fast approaching the 100,000 milestone and should pass that by next week! It's been a big year and next year is set to get bigger with some exciting news that'll be posted here soon. Cheers - CP.
